Overview
Use Settings > Harness Authentication as the source of truth for provider setup.
Stable provider setup is required before you rely on agent runs.
Depending on the provider, setup may open a browser sign-in or ask for API credentials. Start with one provider that you trust for day-to-day work, then add more later.
Setup steps
- Open
Settings. - Select
Harness Authentication. - Connect the first harness/provider you plan to use.
- Complete the required sign-in or credential flow.
- Return to workbench and verify harness/model selection.
Readiness checklist
- authentication is active
- it appears in harness selection
- model selection loads
- test prompts run successfully
Operating guidance
- Keep at least one stable "default" harness configured.
- Add additional harnesses after baseline stability.
- Re-check auth after environment changes or updates.
- Avoid debugging multiple provider problems at once during first-run setup.
Failure recovery
- If auth expires, reconnect from
Harness Authentication. - If models do not load, verify provider/harness selection and reconnect.
- Validate with a small test prompt before resuming real tasks.
